Dhiraagu has anounced that it is to give its broadband services to 10 new islands on the 1st of May 2006. This is something for which many of us have been waiting for a long long time. This increases the percentage of population with access to Dhiraagu broadband internet service from 35% to 51%. Dhiraagu has also anounced of a new broadband package for home use which is called "ADSL Home User Lite". Which is also tobe launched on the 1st of May. DHIRAAGU TO INTRODUCE RESIDENTIAL BROADBAND INTERNET TO 10 NEW ISLANDS
Dhiraagu is pleased to announce the introduction of ADSL Broadband Internet service to 10 new islands in 6 atolls on the 1st of May 2006. This means that Dhiraagu fixed line customers in these islands will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of affordable high quality, high speed Internet from the comfort of their homes.
The 10 islands include Kaafu Villingili and Hulhule, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, Baa Eydhafushi, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, Gnaviyani Fuah Mulah and all the islands of Addu Atoll.
To mark this significant achievement and to encourage take up of broadband Internet, Dhiraagu is planning to celebrate a “Broadband Blowout” with exciting promotions and a new extremely affordable Internet package – details of these will be announced over the next few days.
Dhiraagu believes the introduction of residential broadband internet to these 10 islands would help to narrow the information gap between Male’ and the Atolls and will contribute immensely to the economic and social development of the islands.

DHIRAAGU TO INTRODUCE A RF249 BROABAND HOME USER PACKAGE
Dhiraagu is pleased to announce the introduction of a new affordable broadband ADSL package specially designed for home users, on 1 May 2006.
Customers subscribing to this new ADSL Home User Lite package priced at Rf 249, will include a 300MB free traffic allowance. Usage exceeding the “free” allowance will be charged at a nominal rate of 75 laari per megabyte up to 2GB and only 22 laari per megabyte thereafter.
Similar to the ADSL Home User package introduced last year, the ADSL Home User Lite package will be ideal for Internet browsing, chat and email – the applications most commonly used in the home environment.
The introduction of this new home user package will make high quality, reliable broadband Internet affordable to the vast majority of families in Male’ and in the 10 new islands in 6 Atolls where Dhiraagu broadband Internet is being introduced on 1 May.
To mark the achievement of extending residential Broadband Internet service to over 50% of the population of the Maldives, Dhiraagu is also planning to celebrate the month of May as “Broadband Blowout” month, with special offers and exciting promotions.
